What is Educational Technology? or EdTech

We define Education as the process of learning and technology as a tool for problem-solving. Therefore, Education technology, by extension, is composed of tools that facilitate the process of learning. After reading the article, technology usage has a positive impact on students learning remains unclear. Suppose technology is narrowly defined as digital computing devices. In that case, empirical scholarship indicates that, at best, technology integration has no impact on student achievement, and, at worst, it has a negative correlation with student academic achievement.

According to the writer, technology can significantly add to the quality of students’ learning experiences if the technology is defined broadly as cognitive and physical tools for solving problems. EdTech is also linked with critical thinking and deeper conceptual understanding by using different calculus tools, which refers to inquiry learning. The student can learn more when digital tools provide better understandings for example LCD projectors, DLP, digital calculus, etc. In conclusion, EdTech has positive and negative effects on students learning.
